Overview
This app serves Northwestern students and aims to get rid of awkward and tedious time spent sifting through email and facebook events to find something fun to do. It creates a space to discover new activities that match your individual or group interests and allows you to see events made by verified Northwestern students by logging in with your school email. You can also easily create and share events with other students.
Process
In a team of six, we used many Agile principles like swarming and weekly retrospectives to improve our team's productiveness and energy levels while working towards a usable product. I played a core part in the ideation stage, where I inspired the idea and built on top of others' ideas to lead to the final product design. We conducted pair programmed where every member rotated every 15 minutes, ensuring I programmed both the front and back end. This product was done in weekly sprints over five weeks.
Success Metrics
We conducted user tests with Northwestern students and all said they found our app easy to use. They were able to filter through the events and RSVP for ones that met their interest.
